Ridge and soffit ventilation is an economical and attractive method to control moisture and temperature buildup within the structure and its roof system. Modern design and construction techniques, quality building materials, and the installation of proper ventilation will ensure that the roof system of your structure will last for many years to come. Proper ventilation will also protect the contents of your structure from exposure to moisture and excessive temperatures. A variety of ventilation options can be used to match the needs and appearance of the structure.
Plyco Ridge Vents
- Plyco ridge vents are color-matched standard to your metal roofing and siding color scheme.
- Ridge vent designs and built-in diverters help protect the building from penetration by rain and snow.
- Vents can be installed individually (10’ length) or in a continuous pattern using the hardware provided.
- Plyco offers several ridge vent options to meet a variety of ventilation needs:
- MWE Low Profile Vent – ideal for attic and roof system ventilation on garages, storage structures and other smaller structures.
- Provides 12 square inches of vented area per linear foot.
- Rises only 2 ¾” above the ridge.
- Optional ½” wire mesh can be installed for bird control.
- MW 100-25 Low Profile Vent – ideal for attic and roof system ventilation on medium-sized structures.
- Provides 30 square inches of vented area per linear foot.
- Rises only 3” above the ridge.
- Galvanized wire mesh for bird control standard.
- MW 100-35 Low Profile Vent – ideal for attic and roof system ventilation on larger structures, and for increased air flow in otherapplications.
- Provides 36 square inches of vented area per linear foot.
- Rises 5 ¾” above the ridge.
- Galvanized wire mesh for bird control standard.
- MWE Low Profile Vent – ideal for attic and roof system ventilation on garages, storage structures and other smaller structures.
VersaVent and ProfileVent Ridge Ventilation
- For lower ventilation requirements in smaller metal-roofed structures, VersaVent and ProfileVent can be used with the existing ridge flashing and trim to provide roof system ventilation with a semi-hidden appearance. These products provide consistent and reliable ventilation without concerns regarding wind-driven snow and rain penetration.
Alternative Ridge Ventilation
- As a variety of roofing materials are available for your Blue Chip Structure, other ridge vent options will be suggested and utilized based on your choice of roof system (i.e. shingles, etc.) to allow proper ventilation while maintaining the desired appearance and longevity of the roof system.
Soffit Ventilation
- Eave overhangs are strongly recommended (12” minimum size) on all buildings for ventilation. No roof ventilation system would be complete or effective without an adequate air entry design. End overhangs can also be added for additional ventilation and to accent the roofline of the building.
- FABRAL’s color-matched vented soffit can be installed with the proper roof overhang design to ensure that the roof system has adequate air entry to compliment the ridge ventilation option selected.
