| 1. First you build
the curb to form a base that will hold the cupola
to the roof.
2. The base flashing provided
is fabricated to accommodate a roof curb built
on the job site. It is precut to fit a 4/12
roof pitch." For a 24" (#240) cupola,
the outside curb dimension should be 23 5/8"
x 23 5/8". For a 36" (#360) cupola,
the outside curb dimension should be 35 5/8"
x 35 5/8". For a 48" (#480) Cupola,
the outside curb dimension will be 47 5/8"
x 47 5/8". This will allow for the assembled
cupola to fit over the curb after the metal
flashing is applied. The curb should be built
so that the top is 1 1/2" above the ridge
line, allowing for roof sheeting (which is not
shown in the illustration).
3. The side piece should be
bent in the center to match the roof pitch,
then set in place and nailed to the curb.
4. The end piece is attached
to the curb next. Sealant should be applied
between each piece.
5. The notched side piece is
attached last. Sealant should be applied between
each piece.
6. The two piece screen mounts
horizontally on top of the wood curb. ( Not
Shown)
Optional precut base flashings
are available for 3/12, 3.5/12, 6/12, &
8/12 Pitches.
